- UV stabilized for 1,500 hours on a Weatherometer

Underside
- 8 oz single solid-bottom laminate

Insulation
- Virgin-bead expanded polystyrene foam
- Standard 4″–2″ taper in 1.5 lb density unless otherwise specified
- Heat shrunk in 2 mil plastic to resist water absorption
- Aluminum C-channel reinforcement embedded in the 4″ end
Materials and construction.
- #8 nylon zippers with zinc-coated slides for corrosion resistance
- Single-strand coated and twisted 100% polyester sewing thread
- 5/32″ welt cord around the top perimeter for appearance and seam strength
- Four secure key-lock devices sewn to the straps for safety and cabinet attachment
- Two heat seals at the hinge to reduce heat loss between cover halves
- Skirts extended at the hinge for acrylic coverage and reduced heat loss
- Stress areas reinforced with additional backing material
- Handles and straps lined with reinforcement material; handle attachment uses three reinforcement layers
- Double-layer hinge with reinforced corners
- Reinforced interior bottom corners at the skirt extensions
- All straps and handles X-stitched for strength
- Standard 4″–2″ tapered cover has an R-value of 19.7
Packaging and identification.
- Each end of the carton is labeled with model, color, and serial number when applicable.
- After inspection, each cover is packed in a 175 lb test cardboard carton.
- Standard shipping weight is 65 lb.
Safety-cover classification
Futura spa covers are UL Classified as manual safety covers in accordance with ASTM F1346-91 95SJ. Follow the safety instructions on the product label and keep all locking straps secured when the cover is in use.
